Abelshittim
(the meadow of the acacias), in the "plains" of Moab, on thelow level of the Jordan valley, opposite Jericho. The lastresting-place of Israel before crossing the Jordan. (numbers33:49) The place is most frequently mentioned by its shortername of Shittim. See [10]Shittah Tree, Shittim, [11]Shittim.
